Frequently Asked Questions

When will submissions reopen?

Our submissions will reopen in Spring 2025.

Please subscribe to our newsletter follow our social media platforms for updates.

What genres do you accept?

We accept any and all genres. We do not have an illustrator on hand for children's books, so if you want illustrations attached you must submit them yourself.

How do I submit my work?

Send your query letter to submissions@edinapublishers.com.   If we like what we see, we will ask for the first chapter and last chapter, and if that goes well, we will then ask for the full manuscript.

Do I need a literary agent?

Nope! A literary agent is not necessary. You must, however, submit a query or cover letter before you send us any part of the manuscript.

Do you accept submissions in other languages?

We are unable to take on projects with a primary language other than English at this time.

How long will it take for my submission to be reviewed?

We try to have submissions reviewed within four weeks of submission, but that isn't always possible.

If you want to check up on where your work is in the submission process, please email us.

How do I write a query letter?

A query letter has one purpose: to seduce us to want to edit and publish your work. Think of it as a sales pitch for your book.

There are a few things we love to see in a query letter.

  • A compelling synopsis
  • The intended audience
  • Overall word count for the book
  • A chapter-by-chapter breakdown of the book
  • Comparable books
  • A list of applicable tropes

A well-written query letter will make a huge difference in our desire to want to go forward.

Can I request a meeting with you?

Of course! If you wish to meet with us, you can email us and set up a time to meet (probably via Zoom). Our schedules vary, but we can find a time that works best for you.

Can I resubmit my work if I have been rejected?

We would love to see your work again provided that you've revised it with our given suggestions in mind. If we do reject your work, you are welcome to reach out to an editor (including one of ours) at your own expense and ask them for additional feedback.

If your question hasn't been answered here, don't hesitate to contact us!
